Worldsteel
Worldsteel is the world trade association for the steel industry . It is often also called the ' world steel association ', ' worldsteel association ' or 'Weltstahlverband'.
The association was founded as the 'International Iron and Steel Institute' on July 10, 1967. On October 6, 2008, he changed his name to ' World Steel Association ' (about: World Steel Association). Worldsteel is a non-profit organization with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium. A second office was opened in Beijing in April 2006. The highest body of the association is the ' Board of Directors '. It elects an ' Executive Committee ' every year .
Association members are
- around 160 steel producers (including 16 of the world's 20 largest steel companies),
- national and regional steel associations as well
- relevant research institutes .;
The WSA steel producers produce around 85 percent of the world's production.
