The Diocese of Belthangady ( Latin Dioecesis Belthangadiensis ) is a diocese of the Syro-Malabar Church with its seat in Belthangady in India, united with the Roman Catholic Church . Lawrence Mukkuzhy has been the local ordinary since its inception .
history
Pope John Paul II founded it with the Apostolic Constitution Cum ampla on April 24, 1999 from cession of territory to the Archeparchy of Tellicherry , to which it was also subordinated as a suffragan diocese.
