Lutz Benter
Lutz Benter (born December 20, 1945 in Strande ) is a former German rower . He started rowing in 1961 as a helmsman at WSV Offenbach Bürgel .
In 1968 he became German champion and took part in the Olympic Games in Mexico (6th place in the finals) in two with helmsman with Rolf Hartung and Bernhard Hiesinger from RC Hassia Hanau . The following year he won bronze at the European Championships in Klagenfurt as the helmsman of the Germany eight . In 1970 he just missed the podium with the Germany eight at the World Championships in St. Catharines in Ontario , Canada with 4th place. Also in 1971 he finished the European rowing championships in Copenhagen with the Germany eighth in 6th place.
Lutz Benter is the brother of Uwe Benter .
