The Voshma ( Russian Вожма ) is a tributary of the Vygosero in the Republic of Karelia and in the Arkhangelsk Oblast in northwestern Russia .
It forms the drain of the 4.8 km² large lake Pelosero , which lies on the border between the Arkhangelsk Oblast and the Republic of Karelia. It initially flows a short distance in a north-northwest direction through the Medweschjegorsk Rajon and the Arkhangelsk Oblast. Later it turns to the northwest and flows through the Segescha Rajon in a predominantly western direction. It flows through the small lake Woschmosero and passes the village of the same name Woschmosero . Its most important tributary, the Kumbuksa , flows into the Woschma on the left at river kilometer 21. Finally, south of the village of Waldai , it flows into a bay in the far east of the outflow-regulated lake Vygosero.
The Woschma thus belongs to the river system of the Wyg . It has a length of 93 km. Its catchment area covers 1330 km². The mean discharge at the Woschmosero gauge , 29 km above its mouth, is 6.2 m³ / s. The Woschma reaches its maximum monthly discharge during the spring floods in May.
