Wouter Van Mechelen
Wouter Van Mechelen (born April 8, 1981 in Antwerp ) is a former Belgian cyclist .
In 1997 Wouter Van Mechelen was five-time Belgian youth champion on the track , in the omnium , 500-meter time trial , in the sprint , points race and in the individual pursuit . In the following years he won other Belgian championship titles on the track in various disciplines and age groups. In 2002 he won the first national title in the elite in the Omnium and in the same year with Iljo Keisse at the European Railway Championships (U23) the bronze medal in two-man team driving . In 2003 he was two-time Belgian champion, in the omnium and in two-man team driving (with Steven De Neef ).
On the road , Van Mechelen won a stage of the Tour de la Somme in 2004 and, among other things, the points classification at the Saxony Tour in the 2006 season .
