St. Michael Church

Wtelno (German 1942–1945 Wittelskirch ) is a place in Gmina Koronowo in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship . In 2015 there were 992 residents here.

It is located 6 kilometers south of Koronowo and 16 kilometers northwest of Bydgoszcz . The narrow-gauge railway from Bydgoszcz to Koronowo has a stop in Wtelno.

history

Wtelno belonged to Poland until 1772, then to Prussia, and since 1795 to Poland again. Since 1815 it was in the district of Bromberg in the province of Posen in Prussia.

Since 1920 Wtelno belonged again to Poland and was the seat of a rural community. In 1939 it became part of the German Reich, since 1940 as the seat of an administrative district, in 1942 it was renamed Wittelskirch .

In 1945 it became part of Poland again and was renamed Wtelno .
