Wulf Jasper von Brockdorff
Wulf Jasper von Brockdorff ( April 1, 1673 - February 19, 1740 ) was a German major general .
Life
Wulf Jasper von Brockdorff was the son of Detlev von Brockdorff (1642–1732) and Margarete Ollegard (1650–1706), born. from Ahlefeldt . He owned the noble estates Klein Nordsee (acquired around 1700, where he had the baroque manor house built), Osterrade and Kluvensiek . His wife was Catharina Christina von Ahlefeldt, whom he married on June 28, 1699 and who died of the leaves on December 4, 1718 . The sons Bendix and Cay emerged from the marriage.
Wulf Jasper von Brockdorff was patron of the aristocratic or patronage church Maria Magdalenen in Bovenau and was a "particularly zealous donor". He donated numerous works of art to the church, including the portraits of Martin Luther , Philipp Melanchthon and the Saxon prince that are still available today . Another special foundation was the extraordinary churchyard gate named after him, the large round opening of which was intended for carriage and carriage and the small door for ordinary churchgoers. Von Brockdorff died in 1740 and was buried next to his deceased wife in the annex on the north side of the church, which served as a mausoleum .
