Wyndham Worldwide is an American holding company based in Parsippany , New Jersey , which is listed on the S&P 500 stock index. In July 2006 the company was separated from the previous owner, Cendant Corporation . The company operates over 8000 hotels worldwide.

Wyndham Worldwide is also active in the holiday home segment with Wyndham Exchange & Rentals. This includes B. Novasol . Wyndham Vacation Ownership is also part of Wyndham Worldwide. This operates around 180 so-called timeshare properties.

history

In 2008 Wyndham Worldwide announced that it would acquire the two hotel chains Microtel Inn & Suites and Hawthorn from Hyatt Corporation for US $ 150 million . The Amerihost Inn hotel brand was discontinued and the hotels were renamed Baymont Inn & Suites. In 2010, Wyndham Worldwide announced its intention to purchase the Tryp Hotels brand, comprising approximately 90 properties, from Sol Meliá Hotels & Resorts . These are to continue to be operated by this hotel chain. In 2012, Wyndham Worldwide and Grand City Hotels agreed a strategic partnership, 43 hotels were renamed as brands of the Wyndham Hotel Group.

On March 1, 2012, the Wyndham Hotel Group entered into a strategic partnership with Germany's second-largest hotel management company, Grand City Hotels, to rebrand 43 hotels with more than 5,400 rooms.

Wyndham Worldwide includes the Wyndham Hotel Group, which operates hotels and holiday complexes under 17 brands. According to its own information, the Hotel Group owns around 8,000 hotels with more than half a million rooms, making it one of the largest hotel chains in the world.
