Anstein Mykland

Anstein Mykland (born August 5, 1974 in Kristiansand ) is a former Norwegian biathlete .

Anstein Mykland made his debut in the biathlon World Cup in Hochfilzen in 2000 as 71st in the individual . In his second race, a sprint in Pokljuka , he was very good eleventh. Only once, in 2004 in a pursuit race in Beitostølen , was he able to improve this position in tenth place. 2001 in Haute-Maurienne , 2002 in Kontiolahti , 2004 in Minsk and 2006 in Langdorf Mykland took part in European championships. In Kontiolahti he was fifth in the individual and sprint and tenth in the pursuit, two years later in Minsk he won silver with Alexander Os , Dag Bjørndalen and Tor Halvor Bjørnstad with the relay behind the German team. In 2001 he also started sprinting at the Jericho Military World Championships and finished twelfth. In 2008 Mykland ended his active career due to health problems after the relay race at the Norwegian Championships in Stryn. Mykland is currently working as a national coach for juniors and the B-squad in the Norwegian Biathlon Association alongside Raphael Poirée and Stian Eckhoff .
