Xɵⱨrət Zakir (born August 1953 in Gulja ) is a Chinese politician of Uighur ethnicity. He is the governor of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China.

biography

Xɵⱨrət Zakir graduated from the Department of Industry and Economy of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences with a degree in Business Administration . He joined the Chinese Communist Party in June 1985 .

In December 2019, he defended the Xinjiang re-education camps against foreign criticism.
