He later also joined the Tank Gladiators Legion, an Overwatch Contenders team that is part of the Los Angeles Gladiators . Lengyel also played in the Overwatch World Cup as a tank for Team Canada in 2017, 2018, and 2019. He often plays various games on Twitch. His main category, and also the most watched one, is "Just Chatting", almost every one of his streams includes this. In this category, he mostly responds to pictures and videos sent in by his viewers. He uploads his reactions on his YouTube channel under the name "xQcOW".

Professional career

Denial eSports

Lengyel started his career as a tank on Overwatch team Q? which was later taken over by Denial eSports.

Arc 6

After Denial eSports broke up, Lengyel and the rest of the team played under the name YIKES! which was later changed to Arc 6 . After qualifying, they played Season Zero of the Overwatch Contenders, but were eliminated in the group stage. Eventually, the members went different ways so they could focus on Season 1 of the Overwatch League .

Dallas Fuel

On October 28, 2017, Dallas Fuel announced that Lengyel would be the 9th player in their lineup for the Overwatch League. Lengyel played several games with the team before coming under pressure over a statement he made on his Twitch stream. He is said to have expressed himself homophobically against his rival Austin "Muma" Wilmot of the Houston Outlaws . Lengyel was suspended for four games and fined two thousand dollars for violating the Overwatch League's code of conduct. Dallas Fuel extended the penalty to exclusion from the full Stage 1. Lengyel returned at the beginning of Stage 2 and led his team to victory against the Los Angeles Gladiators and was therefore named Best Player of the Round by Omen by HP . However, he only played a few days before he was banned and expelled from the team again, this time due to the publication of a Twitch emote in the chat, which was perceived by many as racially derogatory towards one of the casters of the Overwatch League.

GOATS

In response, Lengyel said he would be taking a break from professional play to become a full-time streamer. He continued streaming full-time for several months before making the decision to get back to the pro and play with the Contenders NA team, GOATS.

Gladiator's Legion

In February 2019 it was announced that Lengyel would join the Gladiators Legion, the Los Angeles Gladiators academy team , to play as a tank with the Overwatch Contenders. In late 2019, the team announced that they would stop playing at the Contenders.

Overwatch World Cup

Lengyel also played for Team Canada at the 2017 Overwatch World Cup. They qualified for the tournament by beating the Netherlands 3-0. The team made it to the final before being beaten by defending champions South Korea. Lengyel was named the event's Most Valuable Player.

Lengyel also played as a tank in the Canada line-up in 2018. A few months before the tournament, Justin "Jayne" Conroy announced in his Twitch stream that Lengyel and the players NotE , Agilities , Surefour and Mangachu would be welcome to join the team without a trial period. He played in the group stage in Los Angeles and finished second, making it to the quarterfinals at BlizzCon .

In July 2019, Team Canada announced that Lengyel would start again as a tank in the game.

Live streams and videos

Lengyel operates as a live streamer on the Twitch platform under the name xQc . He already has three million followers there and tens of thousands of viewers in each of his live streams. He is thus among the top ten most watched live streamers on Twitch; in the Variety category (many different games) it is in first place.

He only uploads excerpts from his past live streams on YouTube , here too Lengyel reaches over 700,000 people under the name xQcOW. In addition to the unedited excerpts, stream highlights, i.e. the best moments from his stream, are also uploaded to his channel.

Controversy

Account Exclusions

There were known cases of controversial acts even before the major incidents in the Overwatch League. Lengyel's account has been suspended twice for non-compliance with Blizzard's Terms of Use . The first incident occurred in November 2017, when he was kicked out of an Overwatch lap during a competition . Lengyel was suspended for 72 hours for misusing the reporting system; he had used the function for insufficient reasons. He had reported a player who did not want to change his hero after repeated deaths.

In December 2017 he was suspended again for "inappropriate behavior", this time for seven days. Lengyel posted a video in which he apologized for his behavior.

On August 11, 2018, Lengyel was again suspended for disregarding the chat guidelines. Apparently he had been reported repeatedly by his teammates about it. The Overwatch World Cup gave him an official warning, but he was allowed to enter the tournament.

Overwatch League suspensions

Lengyel was suspended twice during his tenure with the Dallas Fuel. His first suspension came after the Dallas Fuel loss to the Houston Outlaws in the first phase. Lengyel made homophobic remarks to the openly gay Houston Outlaws player Austin "Muma" Wilmot after Wilmot used Lengyel's own sayings against him after the game (Lengyel did not play in that game). The Overwatch League then fined Lengyel $ 2,000 and banned him for 4 games. Dallas Fuel later extended that suspension to the remainder of Phase 1.

Lengyel returned from his Phase 2 suspension, only to be fined and suspended again for using the Twitch emoticon TriHard in a "racially denigrating manner" on Twitch chat as the African-American Moderator Malik Forté appeared in the stream. This time he was fined four thousand dollars and suspended for four rounds. On March 11, 2018, Dallas Fuel announced that she and Lengyel would go different ways. In an interview, Lengyel said that while he enjoys playing at a professional level, he also enjoys creating content on Twitch. If he got another offer to play professionally, he would think about it for a while.
