Xander Botha (born October 6, 1994 ) is a South African ice hockey player who has been with the Pretoria Capitals since 2012 .

Career

Xander Botha first played for the Pretoria Warriors before moving to local competitor Pretoria Capitals in 2012.

International

Botha was already on the ice at the U-18 World Championships in 2010 , 2011 and 2012 in Division III for his home country. He was also in the South African squad at the U-20 World Cup Division III 2014 . At the U-18 World Cup in 2012 and the U-20 World Cup in 2014, he was not only team captain, but was also recognized as the best player on his team in both tournaments.

In the men's national team , he made his debut at the 2013 World Cup in Division III, when his team was promoted to Division II. He himself scored the first goal for the South Africans at this tournament with the 1-0 goal in the 5-2 win against Luxembourg .
