Xaver Kraus (born December 10, 1934 ) is a former German biathlete and cross-country skier .
Xaver Kraus started for the WSV Reit im Winkl . He first took part in the biathlon world championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in 1966 and finished tenth in the relay race with Peter Uhlig , Theo Merkel and Jürgen Seifert . A year later he was 16th of the individual in Altenberg . The highlight of his career was his participation in the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble . Kraus was used in both races. In the individual he was 39th and with Herbert Hindelang , Theo Merkel and Gerhard Gehring ninth in the relay race. In cross-country skiing he was Bavarian champion in 1964 over 15 kilometers and in 1965 over 30 kilometers. With the season he also won these titles from 1961 to 1964 four times in a row and from 1966, to 1968 and 1970.
