Xavier Regis Delerue
Xavier Régis Delerue (born July 14, 1953 in Mouscron , Belgium , † September 4, 2015 in Berlin ) was a French painter .
Live and work
Soon after his birth, the family moved to France . She moved to Troyes in Champagne, where Delerue grew up with five siblings. At the École des Beaux-Arts in Troyes he studied painting in the master class with D. Honnet and M. Mellior. Xavier Régis Delerue lived in Berlin since 1978. He has four children with four wives.
From 1989 to 1992 Delerue participated annually in the artistic marathon of Beaulieu-lès-Loches in France. The art marathon lasted a whole night in which each of the painters present realized a work of their choice. The marathon took place as part of the five-day Festival Solstice, a festival created and organized by Eric Moreau that is held every year during the summer solstice . For the festival, Delerue organized the world championship of the children's game Jeu des petits chevaux and founded the Association Pegase in 1993 together with Eric Moreau and Francois Senechal .
In 1989, Delerue met Jean Glavany , who was then Mayor of Maubourguet , France, and proposed a similar event for the municipality of Maubourguet. In 1990 the meeting of art and sport started under the name la nuit des regards (The night of looks). In the nighttime event, artists and athletes create a work of art of their choice and the next day everyone starts to a sporting event. The works will be auctioned on the third day. Together with Eric Moreau, Delerue took part in les rencontres de Maubourguet ten times.
In Berlin Delerue exhibited his pictures in restaurants, including a. in Moritz, Chez Pierre, Jung, Diekmann Meinekestraße, Diekmann in Weinhaus Huth and organized exhibitions of other artists there. He sold his pictures to prominent art collectors, u. a. to Erich Böhme and Michael Schanze .
Xavier Régis Delerue said of his painting: je peins toujours la meme chose, mes bonnes femmes (I always paint the same thing: my women) .
