Xiayang ( Chinese 下 洋 镇 , Pinyin Xiàyáng zhèn ) is a large community in the southeast of the People's Republic of China . It belongs to the administrative area of the Yongding District , which in turn is subordinate to the prefecture-level City of Longyan in Fujian Province . Xiayang Municipality administers an area of 183.89 square kilometers with a total population of 41,200 people in 2015. The 2000 population census showed a total population of 21,883 people in 7,435 households, of whom 12,858 men and 9025 women.
The Xiayang area has about 1,700 hectares of arable land and 13,500 hectares of forest areas. Xiayang is located on the Putian-Longyan highway and has geothermal energy and deposits of raw materials such as orthoclase , tungsten and copper . The orthoclase deposits that are mined in the village of Yanjiang are particularly of high quality.
Xiayang is home to numerous protected cultural assets. The Tulou group of Chuxi village is a UNESCO World Heritage Site . The Tiger-Panther Villa (虎豹 别墅) is one of the monuments of Fujian Province , there are also numerous temples.
Xiayang is divided into 20 villages at village level : Chenzheng (陈正 村), Dongshan (东 山村), Beidou (北斗 村), Xishan (西山 村), Xiayang (下 洋村), Zhongchuan (中 川村), Fuchuan (富川村), Juechuan (觉 川村), Sixian (思贤 村), Donglian (东 联 村), Yanjiang (沿江 村), Xiaping (下 坪村), Sanlian (三联 村), Darui (大 瑞 村), Danzhu (丹竹 村), Shanchuan (上 川村), Xiacun (霞 村村), Chuxi (初 溪村), Yueliu (月 流 村), Liaopi (廖 陂 村). These include 306 village settlements.
