Yōjirō Takahagi ( Japanese 高 萩 洋 次郎 , Takahagi Yōjirō ; born August 2, 1986 in Iwaki , Fukushima Prefecture ) is a Japanese football player .

Career

Yōjirō Takahagi signed his first contract in 2003 with the second division club Sanfrecce Hiroshima . In the very first year erm was runner-up with Sanfrecce and rose to the first division. In 2006 he was loaned to Ehime FC . With the club from Matsuyama he played 44 times in the second division, the J2 League . After the loan, he returned to Hiroshima in early 2007. At the end of 2007 he had to relegate back to the second division with the club. In 2008 he was with Hiroshima champions of the J2 League and rose directly back to the first division. In 2012 and 2013 he celebrated the Japanese football championship with Sanfrecce. From January 2015 to July 2015 he played with the Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia . The club from Sydney played in the first Australian league, the A-League . Immediately afterwards he moved to South Korea for FC Seoul . With FC Seoul, he won the South Korean championship in 2016. In early 2017 he returned to Japan and joined FC Tokyo . The club from Tokyo prefecture played in the first Japanese league, the J1 League .

In 2013, Takahagi made his debut for the Japanese national soccer team . Takahagi has made three international appearances.
