Yūji Itō ( Japanese 伊藤 裕 二 Itō Yūji ; born May 20, 1965 in Mie Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Itō learned to play soccer on the school team at Yokkaichi Chuo Technical High School . He signed his first contract with Yanmar Diesel in 1984 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the Japan Soccer League . In 1984 he won the JSL Cup with the club . At the end of the 1990/91 season, the club was relegated to Division 2. For the club he completed 85 games. In 1992 he moved to the first division club Nagoya Grampus Eight . In 1996 he was runner-up in the J1 League with the club . In 1995 and 1999 he won the Kaiser Cup with the club . For the club he completed 182 first division games. In 2000 he moved to the second division club Shonan Bellmare . For the club he completed 79 games. At the end of 2002 he ended his career as a football player.
