Yūta Wakimoto ( Japanese 脇 本 雄 太 , Wakimoto Yūta ; born March 21, 1989 in Fukui , Fukui Prefecture ) is a Japanese track cyclist who specializes in short-term disciplines.

In 2014, Yuta Wakimoto was Asian champion in the Keirin , and in the 1000-meter time trial he won silver. In this discipline, he also became national champion in 2014 and finished fifth in the Keirin at the Asian Games .

Also in the Keirin, Wakimoto came second overall at the Track Cycling World Cup 2015/16 ; at the UCI Track World Championships in London in 2016 , he finished fifth. In the same year he was nominated to start in this discipline at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where he finished 13th.
