Yage was a German screamo band from Cologne , which existed from 1998 to 2004.

history

Yage was founded in Cologne in 1998; their first rehearsal took place in the basement of a Catholic youth home. The name of the band was inspired by the book " The Yage Letters " (Eng. "In Search of Yage") by William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg . Half a year later, Oliver Krebs joined as the second guitarist.

From October of the year Yage played first concerts. Nikita Lavrinenko and Oliver Krebs founded the labels Nova Recordings and EarthWaterSky connection and released the first, self-titled 7 "single in February 1999. This was followed by four more singles, two albums and a compilation on the Japanese label Sonzai Records.

Yage played concerts in Germany, the USA, France, Spain, England, Italy and Japan, where they enjoyed particular popularity. In 2004 Yage decided to break up and played their last concert on August 14, 2004 in the Kulturbunker in Cologne-Mülheim.
