The Täferrot flood retention basin of the water association Kocher-Lein an der Lein is a flood retention basin in Baden-Württemberg .

description

This flood retention basin (HRB) was created - like ten other HRB along the Lein - by the water association Kocher-Lein. With the construction of these flood retention basins, the risk of flooding in the Leintal and in the middle Kochertal should be reduced. It is located in a large forest area in the municipality of Täferrot in the Ostalbkreis, about 7 km northeast of Schwäbisch Gmünd .

In 1996/1997 the retention basin was extensively renovated and now no longer has any pronounced permanent congestion. It is planned that no more evacuations will be carried out. This was made possible by the special construction of the intake structure, which prevents a blockage .

In advance, a model study was carried out for the expansion of the flood relief system and measures against sedimentation in the Täferrot flood retention basin. These were carried out by the Institute for Hydraulic Engineering at the University of Stuttgart . For this purpose u. a. this section of the river recreated in the model.

The barrier structure is a 14 m high earth dam .
