Yahoo Widget Engine (own spelling Yahoo! Widget Engine ), formerly Konfabulator , is a now set JavaScript - widget engine for Windows and Mac OS X that of Yahoo as freeware was expelled. With the help of this program you can display various mini programs ( widgets ) on the desktop, such as the current weather or news. After Yahoo bought Konfabulator in July 2005, the versions of Konfabulator came out under the name Yahoo Widget Engine.
From version 4.5 Flash animations could also be integrated.
There has been no further development of the software since version 4.5.2 was released in 2007. However, it can be used with restrictions under Microsoft Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.9.
The download offer and support for the desktop version were discontinued on April 11, 2012.
