Yakuza ( Japanese 龍 が 如 く , Ryū ga Gotoku , Eng. "Like a dragon") is a series of computer games developed and distributed by Sega . The first release in the series was the eponymous Yakuza , released in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 . Since then, six follow-up titles as well as several offshoots and remakes have followed in the main series. It is an action adventure in an open game world . A large part of the game play the hand-to-hand combat in the style of a beat 'em up .
