Yan Suarsana

Yan Suarsana (* 1982 in Bad Mergentheim ) is a German Protestant theologian .

Life

From 2002 to 2008 he studied Protestant theology, German , classical philology and classical Indology in Heidelberg . From 2008 to 2011 he was a research assistant at the chair for Reformation and Modern Church History at the Theological Faculty of Heidelberg University under Christoph Strohm . From 2012 to 2013 he completed his legal clerkship . After receiving his doctorate in 2013 as Dr. theol. with the dissertation : "Pandita Ramabai and the invention of the Pentecostal movement. Postcolonial religious historiography using the example of the Mukti Revival" he was a research assistant at the chair for religious studies and intercultural theology at the Theological Faculty of Heidelberg University under Michael Bergunder . From October 2017 to March 2018 he was a professor for religious studies at the University of Bremen . Since 2018 he has been teaching as professor for religious studies in Bremen .
