Yang Yilin

Yang Yilin (born August 26, 1992 in Guangdong ) is a Chinese gymnast . She is looked after by her trainer Lu Shan Zhen . Her greatest achievement is winning the gold medal with the team at the 2008 Summer Olympics .

Career

Yang Yilin made her international debut at the 2007 World Gymnastics Championships in Stuttgart . In the all-around competition she was able to place sixth in the final. Yang won the bronze medal on the uneven bars and silver with the team. However , she could not qualify for the final battle on the balance beam and on the ground.

Yang Yilin was named to the Chinese squad for the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing . There she won the gold medal with the team. She was able to achieve the bronze medal on the uneven bars and in the all-around competition.

In the run-up to the Olympic Games and during the gymnastics competitions, the age of Yang Yilin was questioned by the media and indications were found that pointed to the year of birth 1993. But since the official documents stated 1992, she was allowed to take part in the competitions.
