Yang Zhi ( Chinese  杨智 ; born January 15, 1983 in Guangzhou ) is a Chinese football player who currently plays as a goalkeeper for Beijing Guoan in the Chinese Super League. He is currently the player with the most appearances in the CSL.

Career

Yang Zhi began his football career with second division team Guangdong Xiongying . In the 2002 season he completed 26 league games. The following season he played in another 22 league games for Guangdong and the club was able to occupy tenth place.

Yang's achievements caught Beijing Guoan at a Chinese Super League club and soon after he moved to the club at the start of the 2005 season , where he quickly established himself as a goalkeeper and made 21 league games in his debut season. In the following seasons he became an integral part of the first team and in the league season 2009 he was able to win the championship title. Shortly before the start of the 2012 season , Yang sustained an injury while playing for his home province of Guangdong in the 2012 Guangdong-Hong Kong Cup and was out most of the season. He recovered in time and played as a regular goalkeeper again in the 2013 season .

National team

Yang made his debut on August 10, 2006 in the Chinese national team in a 4-0 win against Thailand , as a substitute for Li Leilei . The following year he was on 28 October 2007, his debut in a competitive match at a 1: 0 win over Myanmar during the qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup 2010 . Under coach Gao Hongbo , he was promoted to first goalkeeper. In 2009 he was in a friendly against Germany in goal, which ended with 1: 1.
