Coordinates: 35 ° 27 ′ S , 138 ° 20 ′ E The District Council of Yankalilla is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 751 km² and has about 5200 inhabitants (2016).
Yankalilla is located on the Fleurieu Peninsula about 65 kilometers southwest of the metropolis of Adelaide . The area includes 25 hamlets and villages: Bald Hills, Bullaparinga, Cape Jervis , Carrickalinga, Deep Creek, Delamere, Hay Flat, Inman Valley, Myponga , Myponga Beach, Normanville, Pages Flat, Parawa, Randalsea, Rapid Bay, Second Valley, Sellicks Hill, Silverton, Talisker, Torrens Vale, Tunkalilla, Wattle Flat, Willow Creek, Wirrina Cove and Yankalilla. The council's administrative headquarters are in Yankalilla in the center of the LGA.

The Yankalilla Council has nine members elected by the residents of the four wards (two each from Carrickalinga, Flinders, and Hewett Ward, and three from Bungala Ward). These four districts are defined independently of the localities. The mayor of the council is also recruited from among the councilors.
