The Yankee Harbor is a small natural harbor on the southwest coast of Greenwich Iceland in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is located between Glacier Bluff and Spit Point .
The name of the bay has been common among British and American seal hunters since 1820 and is now internationally established. At times the name was also used for Port Foster on Deception Island . The name gives the name Yankee for the residents of New England on the east coast of the United States.
