Yannis Kakridis
Yannis Kakridis or Ioannis Kakridis ( Greek Ιωάννης Κακριδής , born March 14, 1964 in Tübingen ) is a German Slavist of Greek origin.
Kakridis studied Slavic Philology , Byzantine Studies and German at the Universities of Bonn , Cologne and Munich . He received his doctorate in 1988 and completed his habilitation in 1995.
Kakridis carried out study and research stays in Sofia , Belgrade and Moscow and was a Feodor Lynen Fellow of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation at UC Berkeley from 1997–1998 . He currently teaches at the Institute for Slavic Languages and Literatures at the University of Bern and at the University of Freiburg .
Kakridis' research interests lie in the area of older Slavic literature and Slavic linguistics.
