Yariv Mozer
Yariv Mordechai Mozer , Hebrew יריב מוזר (born February 17, 1978 in Tel Aviv ) is an Israeli film producer , screenwriter and director who specializes primarily in documentaries . He also teaches at Tel Aviv University .
Life
Tel Aviv-born Mozer grew up in nearby Herzliya before studying film studies at Tel Aviv University after completing his military service . He graduated with distinction in 2003. Mozer was reassigned to the army as a reservist in 2006 and served during the Second Lebanon War , documenting his experiences with a camera. This resulted in his first documentary "My First War" (original Hebrew title: המלחתה הראשונת שלי), which premiered in 2008.
Mozer's first feature film is the 2013 film "Love Letters from an Unknown Man" (original Hebrew title: שבלולים בגשם), in which, following a short story by Yossi Avni-Levy , he tells how the sudden arrival of anonymous love letters from an unknown man influences the life of the protagonist and questions his sexual identity .
Internationally, Mozer achieved another success in 2016 with the Israeli- French - German co-production " Ben Gurion, Epilogue " (Hebrew original title: בן-גוריון, אפילוג). The film was shown in many countries at film festivals, in cinemas and in TV programs. It is centered around a six-hour interview with 82-year-old David Ben-Gurion , believed to have disappeared , that he gave Sede Boqer in his home after retiring from active politics. In Israel itself, the film contributed to a new discovery by David Ben-Gurion at, which was re-introduced mainly to a younger generation.
Mozer mainly teaches film production at his alma mater, Tel Aviv University at the Yolanda and David Katz Faculty of Arts.
