Yasin Hayal

Yasin Hayal (* 1981 in Trabzon ) is a Turkish criminal from the nationalist environment who was also involved in the murder of Hrant Dink .

Personal

Yasin Hayal was born in Trabzon on the Black Sea in 1981 . His father's name is Bahattin Hayal. In 1999 he finished high school. From 1999 to 2001 he worked in the Büyük Birlik Partisi . In particular, he said he was involved in the party's youth work. Hayal did his military service in Konya in 2002 . The occupation of Iraq made a great impression on Hayal. He made a living selling Simit and playing Davul at weddings. He also worked as a construction worker with his brother Ömer and his father. He tried to get to Chechnya as a fighter , but failed.

Detention

On October 24, 2004, Yasin Hayal carried out a fragmentation bomb attack on a McDonald’s branch in Trabzon , Turkey . Six people were injured in the attack. As a justification, he later stated that the branch was open during the fasting month of Ramadan . Hayal was sentenced to several years in prison. However, he was paroled after 11 months. After the judgment was overturned, he was sentenced to the same sentence again during the appeal hearing in April 2009. He was already back in custody, however, because in 2007 he incited the then 16-year-old Ogün Samast to murder the editor-in-chief of the newspaper Agos, Hrant Dink . Yasin Hayal also got the murder weapon and is considered the head of the gang. Osman Hayal, Yasin's older brother, is also charged with involvement in the murder of Hrant Dink.
