Yateya Kambepera (born May 2, 1993 in Maun ) is a Botswana sprinter .

Athletic career

Yateya Kambepera gained his first experience at international championships in 2009 at the Youth World Championships in Bressanone , where he was eliminated in the 100-meter run with 11.08 s in the first round, while he reached the semi-finals over 200 meters, in which he was with Eliminated for 22.45 s. In 2012 he took part in the African Championships in Porto-Novo for the first time and reached the semi-finals there over 100 meters, but no longer competed there. In addition, he was used in the Botswana 4 x 100 meter relay in the run-up and helped the team to reach the final. Two years later he was eliminated from the African Championships in Marrakech over 100 meters with 10.67 s in the run and reached the semi-finals in the 200-meter run , in which he was eliminated with 21.28 s. In 2015 he took part in the Africa Games in Brazzaville for the first time and was eliminated there over 100 meters with 10.64 s in the semi-finals, while he failed over 200 meters with 21.74 s in the first round. In addition, he came fifth with the relay in 39.83 s. It was not until 2019 that he competed again and again took part in the Africa Games in Rabat , where he was eliminated in the preliminary round over 100 meters with 10.92 s and he finished fifth in the relay in 39.52 s.

In 2012, Kambepera became the Botswana champion in the 100 and 200 meter races.
