The Bay of Yawri ( English Yawri Bay ) is a sea ​​bay in the Atlantic Ocean off the central west coast of Sierra Leone . It borders the Western Area and Southern provinces . The bay is a marine reserve and covers an area of ​​almost 196 square kilometers.

The north-western border of Yawri Bay is formed by the Banana Islands . The mainland coastline of about 70 kilometers is covered by 29,505 hectares of mud flats with mangroves , which corresponds to more than 16 percent of the total mangrove occurrence in the country.

The bay receives an inflow from the Ribi , Bumpe and Kagboro Creek rivers . There are at least 46 species of birds, with at least 20,000 waders (as of 1991). You are exposed to a severe threat. The largest mammal in Yawri Bay is the manatee .
