Yebbi-Bou (also Yebbi Bou , Yebbibou and Yébibou ) is an oasis in northern Chad , about 160 km east-southeast of Bardaï . An important palm grove belongs to the place, which was planted on the valley floor of an Ennerie (wadi). The houses in the small town are located on the high bank of this dry valley to protect them against sporadic flooding.

Yebbi-Bou is located in the center of the Tibesti Mountains , but administratively does not belong to the region of the same name, but to the southeastern bordering Borkou region , which includes the eastern part of the Tibesti. Since the administrative reorganization of Chad on August 10, 2018, Yebbi-Bou has been the capital of the department of the same name . Before that (between 2008 and 2018) the place was the seat of a sub-prefecture of the Chadian department of East Tibesti. This entire sub-prefecture had only 3,859 inhabitants at the 2009 census.

The place was fought over in December 1986 in the Libyan-Chadian border war . Yebbi-Bou (together with Zouar ) has been the seat of a brigade of the Chadian national gendarmerie since 1994 .
