First ascent | 1987 by Jerzy Kukuczka and Artur Hazjer |
The Yebokangal Ri (also Jebo Kangri ) is a 7365 m high mountain in the Himalayan Jugal Himal massif in the south of Tibet ( People's Republic of China ).
Due to a notch height of only 265 m, the Yebokangal Ri is considered a secondary peak of the eight-thousander Shishapangma and not an independent mountain. It is located 2.08 km north-northwest of the main summit of Shishapangma, with which it is connected by a mountain ridge. In addition to the higher eastern peak, the Yebokangal Ri also has the 7,332 m high western peak .
Ascent history
As part of the preparation for the ascent of Shishapangma, Jerzy Kukuczka and Artur Hazjer made the first ascent of Yebokangal Ri in August / September 1987 .
