Yemmiganur is a city in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh .
Yemmiganur is located in the district of Kurnool 26 km northeast of Adoni and 60 km west of the district capital Kurnool . Yemmiganur was founded in 1965. In 1999 Yemmiganur became a Municipality ( 1st Grade Municipality ). The city ( Yemmiganur Municipality ) had 94,956 inhabitants at the 2011 census; Ten years earlier it was 76,411.
The pilgrimage site of Mantralayam is located 20 km north of Yemmiganur on the right bank of the Tungabhadra .
