The Yeni Özgür Politika ( Turkish , German Neue Freie Politik ) is a Turkish and Kurdish- language daily newspaper that is affiliated with the underground organization PKK and has been published in Germany since January 2006. It was founded after its predecessor Özgür Politika was banned.

history

Özgür Politika

On September 5, 2005, the publishing house located in Neu-Isenburg near Frankfurt am Main and the apartments of employees were searched and the newspaper was banned by the Federal Ministry of the Interior because of the alleged “integration into the overall organization” of the PKK . This was preceded in June 2005 by the publication of the founding declaration of Koma Komalên Kurdistan (Community of Kurdistan Communes) in Özgür Politika, as well as the series of attacks on tourists in Turkey in summer 2005.

The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution confirms the allegations. The 2005 report on the protection of the constitution states: “Both media are to be regarded as the“ mouthpieces ”of the KONGRA GEL due to their structural connection and content orientation.” The newspaper is also seen as the mouthpiece of the organization in the 2006 and 2007 reports on the protection of the constitution.

The German Union of Journalists (DJU), which belongs to the Verdi union , criticized the Federal Ministry of the Interior's actions as "completely excessive" on the day it became known.

The execution of the decree was initially suspended by the Federal Administrative Court . The ban has now been lifted, and the Federal Ministry of the Interior was defeated in one of five points in a legal dispute against the publisher. The ban was due to legal reasons, i. H. repealed by the Federal Administrative Court without assessing the factual bases.

Yeni Özgür Politika

Since January 16, 2006, a new daily newspaper has been published in Germany under the name Yeni Özgür Politika (Neue Özgür Politika). It is published in Turkish and Kurdish. The name means "New Free Politics". The newspaper acts as the mouthpiece of the PKK organization . Calls to the Kurdish youth to join the underground organization HPG in the mountains of northern Iraq are increasing . Yeni Özgür Politika is also mentioned in the Federal Constitutional Protection Report of 2009: "The daily newspaper" Yeni Özgür Politika "(YÖP) published in Germany is of particular importance for supporters of the PKK."

Germany
