The Yermak Point ( English for Russian Мыс Ермак Mys Jermak ) is a headland on the Oates coast of the East Antarctic Victoria Land . It is located about 40 km west-northwest of Znamensky Island on the west bank of Rennick Bay .
It was named in 1959 by participants in the Second Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1956-1958) after the icebreaker Jermak . The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated this designation into English in 1964.
