(1998)

Yesterday Man is the third and most successful album by the Swedish synth-pop band Elegant Machinery . Like its predecessor, it was published on the Swedish electronics label Energy Rekords .

The songs were recorded and mixed during the spring of 1996 at Studios Energy , Oscar and the Nordic Sound Lab in Skara under the direction of producer Anders Eliasson . As lead singer Robert acted Enforsen, for the backing vocals and the keyboards were Richard Johansson and Johan Malmgren responsible. Additional synthesizers were programmed by Anders Eliasson. The mastering was done by Peter in de Betou from Cuttingroom Stockholm .

The cover was designed by the Hartle / Duro design team. It shows a 1950s-style photo by Stellan Stebe of a woman and a man lying on a blanket on the beach. The woman is talking on one of the first cell phones while the man looks at her smiling.

Reviews

“With 'Save Me' one of the best songs comes first on the new CD. A brilliant chorus that will probably drive everyone onto the dance floor. "

- Uwe Trumper : e-lectric number 7 (1996)

"This album is a must for lovers of synth pop or someone who just loves good music."

- Jim Smith : Apocalypse No. 2 (1997)

“The ability to write great pop songs is the icing on the cake, which is present to a large extent at EM. Every song has a refrain that sticks in your ear for days. A very good album. "

- Jason Baker : Synthpop.NET (2002)
