Yeti's Skiffle Men was a Hanoverian skiffle / jazz band from the 1970s .

Through regional and national solo live performances and gigs at skiffle / jazz festivals, on the traditional annual Old Town Festival Hannover and Jazz Club Hannover they earned themselves a certain reputation in the then "booming" jazz / skiffle scene Lower Saxony and beyond. Larger became famous for the band by a television appearance on the ZDF telecast The turntable and radio interviews of the NDR .

occupation

The founding members were: Bodo Krüger ( piano ), Karl-Heinz-Ullmann ( tea box bass ), Henning Wegert ( banjo ) and “Knox” Künnecke ( washboard ).

history

Bodo Krüger later "handed" the piano to Lars Tjaden, "Kalle" Skorka his banjo to Friedhelm Hintze, who then passed it on to Holger Kwoczek. Kurt Müller-Arndt “handed” the guitar to Hartmuth Böttcher, to whom Gebhard Kersten “joined” as guitarist. Now the band had 23 new strings that they knew how to use excellently. “Knox” Künnecke handed the washboard to the very young “Geni” (Michael Gneist), who only played on the last record and died early. Utz Meyer joined the group as a new washboard player.

The high level could be maintained by the new cast and expanded by the addition of Irish folklore and own German and English texts / songs. If there was a band that consisted only of friends, it was the "Yeti's Skiffle Men", which could be seen again and again during their performances. After several decades, the musicians had to pay tribute to their professions, the group "crumbled" until it finally came to an end.
