Yevgen "Jenia" Vladimirovich Sokolovskiy ( Ukrainian Євген Володимирович Соколовський Yevhen Wolodymyrowytsch Sokolowskyj ; Russian Евгений "Женя" Владимирович Соколовский Yevgeny "Zhenya" Vladimirovich Sokolovsky * 7. November 1978 in Odessa , Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic ) is a in Dusseldorf resident Ukrainian racers, Team Manager and entrepreneurs.

Sokolovskiy is the owner and manager of the MotoGP / IDM team Vector Racing , which won the 2011 International German Motorcycle Championship in the 600 cc Supersport class. He drove himself in the “Vector 24-7 GP Racing” team until 2012 , switched to touring car racing in 2018 after a break and has been competing in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series since 2020 .

Yevgen Sokolovskiy grew up in the Ukrainian Soviet Republic in Odessa. Yevgen came to motorsport very early through his father, the Ukrainian rally driver Wladmir Sokolovskiy, and started in junior races at the age of 8.

From 1995 to 2000 Yevgen studied at the Odessa National Economic University (today part of the State Polytechnic University ) and graduated with a master's degree (Dyplom Magistra) as a business IT specialist .

Motorcycling

From 2003 to 2009 Yevgen Sokolovskiy drove in the Supersport 600 in national championships in Russia and Ukraine.

From 2009 to 2011 he competed in the German Yamaha R6 Cup. In 2011 he also played in the WorldSBK and the German DMV Rundstrecken Championship. At the IDM final run in 2011 at the Hockenheimring he had a hard crash.

In the 2012 season he started again in the IDM Supersport and WorldSBK UEM Coppa dei Due Paesi Trophy , but ended his two- wheeler career at the end of the season.

Change to touring car racing

After a break as an active driver, Yevgen Sokolovskiy switched to touring car racing in 2018. He entered the European oval racing series LMV8 (Late Model V8) series and achieved 2nd place in the ASCAR class in his debut year.

In 2019 we switched to a new vehicle in the LMV8 NASCAR class and after getting used to it, we could always improve. In the final, Sokolovskiy was involved in a high-speed accident and the 2019 emergency vehicle was completely destroyed, Sokolovskiy was recovered from the vehicle unharmed.

In 2020, Yevgen Sokolovskiy will drive for the Marko Stipp Motorsport team in the EuroNASCAR-PRO championship of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series and in the Challenger Trophy.

Because of the Covid-19 pandemic , the races of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series were also suspended, and the EuroNASCAR Esports Series was founded as a supplement . Team owner and manager

As the team owner, Sokolovskiy led the motorcycle sports team Vector Racing together with team manager Andrey Gavrilov .

Since 2001 the team took part in various different championships, up to European and world championship runs. In 2006 the team then entered the World SBK motorcycle world championship. 2008 brought Vladimir Ivanov on a Yamaha YZF-R6 for his team to second place in the IDM Supersport.

In 2009 Vector Racing started one season with Vladimir Ivanov in the MotoGP up to 250 cc and one in the Moto 2 class, which was newly created in 2010.

In the 2011 season Vector Racing came back to the IDM and won the International German Motorcycle Championship (IDM) in the Supersport class with driver Jesco Günther .

After the successful 2011 season, Vector Racing Team decided to start two teams with two drivers each in IDM Supersport in 2012: Vector Bily KM Racing and Vector 24-7 GP Racing . However, the team was unable to match the successes of previous years.

Others

Yevgen Sokolovskiy is married and lives in Düsseldorf.

As owner and managing director, he runs the AutoSL car dealerships in Neuss and the Classic Remise Düsseldorf .
