Kareen Zebroff
Kareen Zebroff , b. Helge-Kareen Brüggemann, (* 1941 in Windsbach ) is a Canadian yoga teacher of German origin.
Life
Kareen Zebroff - daughter of a medical doctor - grew up in Marienbad during the Second World War . In 1946 the family fled to southern Germany , where their father then worked as a doctor. In 1951 she lived with her younger sister in an orphanage for a year . In 1953, their parents divorced. In 1956 the mother emigrated with daughter Kareen and her older brother from Heidelberg to Canada to the village of Dawson Creek .
Kareen Zebroff studied at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver , where she worked as a primary school teacher after graduation. After her marriage and the birth of her three children, she began - living in the small town of Hundson Hope on the Peace River in northern Canada - at the community college with the teaching of yoga . Previously, Kareen Zebroff had started her own yoga exercises from a depressive and overweight situation.
In the spring of 1970, Canadian television broadcast Zebroff's half-hour yoga course for the first time. And after the approval of the then sports director Hanns Joachim Friedrichs , Kareen Zebroff was able to present the exercises Yoga for Yeden in the television series Die Sport-Information for five minutes on the German ZDF from October 1973 . After 59 broadcasts there was a new slot for the exercises from January 1975 in the turntable .
