Yolanda Demetriou

Yolanda Demetriou (* 1983 ) is a German sports scientist and university lecturer .

Life

Demetriou graduated from the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg with a Magister Artium degree in sports science, educational science and psychology . She then worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Sports Science at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen  , where she submitted her doctoral thesis in 2012. In 2013 Demetriou was awarded the publication prize for young talent in sports science for her work on a health promotion program that was published in the "Forum Sportwissenschaft" series of the German Association for Sports Science .

In September 2014 Demetriou took up a position as professor in the field of sports and health education at the Technical University of Munich .

Her main research interests include the promotion of skills in physical education and the acquisition of health-related knowledge in physical education.

In September 2015 Demetriou was elected to the board of the German Association for Sports Science as Vice President of the Promotion of Young Talent and remained in office until September 2019.
