history
Peter Radcliffe originally conceived the song as a country song with the title You're My First, You're My Last, My In-Between , but later White changed two thirds of the lyrics with Sepe and reworked it as an R&B / Disco song .
The release took place on October 25, 1974, in the Cash Box Charts as well as Great Britain and Italy , the song was a number one hit.
The song was used in films such as Money Talks - Money doesn't stink (as a duet with Faith Evans ), Bridget Jones - On the Edge of Madness , The Zoo Keeper and Dark Shadows . In the television series Ally McBeal , the main character John Cage often focuses on the song in stressful situations in order to collect himself.
