Younes Kaboul, 2011

Kaboul began his career at Auxerre and has played there regularly since he was 19. He won the Coupe de France in 2005 and gained his first experience in the UEFA Cup . During his time at Auxerre he was active in France's U-19 and U-21 teams. Kaboul moved to Tottenham Hotspur on July 5, 2007 for approximately £ 7million . He made his first game for the English club in a friendly against St Patrick's Athletic FC on July 12th. He scored his first goal in the Premier League against Fulham FC . Shortly afterwards, the first goal in the 6-1 victory for Tottenham at European level followed. After numerous mistakes, Kaboul was on the bench until the spring of 2008.

For the 2008/2009 season he moved to Portsmouth FC and received a contract there until 2012. There he stayed until 2010, played 39 games and scored four goals.

In January 2010 he moved back to the Spurs .

For the 2015/16 season , Kaboul moved to Sunderland AFC .

National team

Kaboul could play either for France or Morocco because of his origins , but has already played as captain in the French U-21s. However, he decided to play for the Morocco national team in August 2009. He should make his debut on August 12, 2009 in a friendly against the DR Congo, but he declined to concentrate on his club. In November 2010, however, France coach Laurent Blanc nominated him for the Bleus squad on the occasion of the friendly against England at Wembley Stadium ; Younès Kaboul was only used on the Bleus' "Eastern European Tour" in early June 2011, where he was even in the starting line- up against Ukraine and Poland .
