Young Africans FC , known locally as Yanga , is a Tanzanian football club from Dar Es Salaam, founded in 1935 .
history
For decades the club has played in the Tanzanian Premier League , the country's top division. In addition to its arch-rival Simba SC , Young Africans FC is the largest and most successful club in Tanzania. So far they have won the championship 22 times, the cup four times and the CECAFA Club Cup five times .
Although the team is nationally more successful than Simba SC, they have so far been unsuccessful in the African continental competitions and were mostly eliminated in the first rounds. In 1998 they were able to reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League for the only time so far and were eliminated from group B with only two points from six games.

The club plays most of its home games in the 60,000-seat Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium . Occasionally the club also moves to the Uhuru Stadium (23,000 seats).
