Simba SC is a Tanzanian football club from Dar es Salaam . Along with Young Africans FC , the club is the most successful in the country. The term Simba is Swahili and means lion .
history
Simba SC was founded in 1936 under the name Queens , later the club name changed to Eagles and Dar Sunderland . After all, it has had its current name since 1971. 1993 was the club's most successful year, in addition to winning the Tanzanian championship, Simba was also able to reach the final of the CAF Cup. The club has won the championship 19 times, the cup competition three times and the CECAFA Club Cup six times. The best result in the CAF Champions League was reaching the quarter-finals in 2019.
