The Ytri-Rangá (isl. Outer Rangá ) is a river in the south of Iceland . It is a popular fishing river for salmon .

The Ytri-Rangá rises north of the Hekla and is over 55 km long. Almost 10 km south of the village of Hella , it joins the Þverá river , which has previously merged with the Eystri-Rangá . From the confluence of Þverá and Ytri-Rangá the river is called Hólsá and flows into the sea after 11 km.
