Yu Sun-bok
Yu Sun-bok (born August 2, 1970 ) is a former North Korean table tennis player who became team world champion in the 1990s and won bronze in doubles at the 1992 Olympic Games .
Career
Yu Sun-bok's first international success was winning the 1987 Asian Youth Championship with the North Korean team. In 1989 she won the adult singles of the Asian Cup, a year later she reached the final with the women's team at the Asian Cup .
She was nominated for world championships three times, namely in 1989 , 1991 and 1993 . In 1991 she was part of the all-Korean women's team that became world champions. In 1993 she won silver with the North Korean team and bronze in mixed with Sung Il Li. In the same year she was third in the Asian ranking games TOP8.
In 1992 she qualified for participation in the Olympic Games , where she reached the quarter-finals in singles and won the bronze medal in doubles with Li Bun Hui after the semi-final defeat against the Chinese Chen Zihe / Gao Jun .
In the ITTF world rankings , Yu Sun-bok was ranked ninth in late 1992 and late 1993.
