Yujiang ( 余江区 , Yújiāng Qū ) is a municipality that belongs to the administrative area of the prefecture -level city of Yingtan in the northeast of the Chinese province of Jiangxi . It has an area of 937 square kilometers and counted 355,000 inhabitants as of 2007, of which 355,000 were the urban population. The 2000 population census showed a total population of 313,152 people in 83,899 households, of which 163,494 men and 149,658 women.

Yujiang is 120 kilometers from the provincial capital Nanchang and 25 kilometers from the urban center of Yingtan. The territory of Yujiang has a north-south extension of 75 kilometers and a west-east extension of 29 kilometers. The relief is wavy, also hilly in the north and south, and flat in the middle. The main rivers are Baita He , Gutou Gang , Huangzhuang He and Huachuang Gang . They are dammed up in several places, creating reservoirs such as the Jinbei Reservoir , the Wuhu Reservoir or the Honghu Reservoir . The climate is subtropical with an annual average temperature of 17.6 ° C and 258 frost-free days per year. January is the coldest month with an average of 5.2 ° C and July is the warmest month with an average of 29.3 ° C. There is an average of 1789 millimeters of precipitation per year with an average of 1739 hours of sunshine per year.

The Zhejiang-Jiangxi Railway , the Anhui-Jiangxi Railway, and National Roads 206 and 320 pass through Yujiang.

Administrative structure

As of the end of 2018, the territory of Yujiang was composed of seven large municipalities and five municipalities at the municipality level . These are:

In addition, the Yujiang Industrial Park (余江县工业园区), Longgang New District (鹰潭市龙岗新区), Gaogongzhaiying Forest (高公寨营林场), Dengjiabu State Wet Rice Farm (邓家埠水稻原种场), Yujiang State Fish Farm (余江县水产场), Tangchaoyuan Forest (塘潮源林场), Zhanggongqiao State Farm (张公桥农场), Youth Land Reclamation (青年综合垦殖场), and Daqiao State Farm (大桥农场) in the Yujiang County Area.

The seat of the government of Yujiang is in Dengbu Township .

At the village level, the above-mentioned administrative units are made up of 23 communities and 116 villages .
