Yukihiko Satō ( Japanese 佐藤 由 紀 彦 , Satō Yukihiko ; born May 11, 1976 in Shizuoka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player .

Career

Satō learned to play football on the school team at Shimizu Commercial High School . He signed his first contract with Shimizu S-Pulse in 1995 . The club played in the highest league in the country, the J1 League . In 1998 he moved to the second division Montedio Yamagata . For the club he completed 29 games. In 1999 he moved to league rivals FC Tokyo . In 1999 he was runner-up in the J2 League with the club and was promoted to the J1 League. For the club he completed 104 games. In 2003 he moved to league rivals Yokohama F. Marinos . With the club he became Japanese champions in 2003 and 2004 . For the club, he completed 43 first division games. In 2005 he moved to the league competitor Shimizu S-Pulse. For the club, he completed 12 top division games. In 2006 he moved to the second division Kashiwa Reysol .
